Colour
Botticino is recognisable by its pink creamy white background with some subtle veining due to traces of ochraceous-limonitic pigmentation giving russet to reddish shades.
The colour variety of Botticino originates from the different concentration of inclusions of organic and inorganic origin in the homogeneous paste (composed of fine carbonate and calcareous mud from the Mesozoic era).
Features
The extreme compactness, porosity and low absorption values make Botticino suitable for outdoor use and determine its mechanical characteristics such as resistance to compression (from 1200 to 1500 kg/cm2), flexion and wear.
Use
Because of its unquestionable beauty and great qualities of resistance, Botticino is amply used in architecture and interior design for the realisation of floors, coverings, thresholds, window sills and much more, and is considered a very precious marble worldwide.
